Praeger survey collection, 1934.

Worksheets for the "Comprehensive Survey of the Parks and Playgrounds in New York City" compiled under the direction of Robert Moses, Commissioner of Parks. For each park and/or playground in New York City, there is a detailed architectural drawing, photograph(s), a page providing the location, number of acres, type of park and neighborhood, facilities (in a general nature), its physical condition, work needed to be done urgently, and future recommendations for improvement. A worksheet lists type of work done, time used to perform job, labor and equipment costs, and total cost. For each borough, there is a listing of each park and playground, an address, and a map showing location. Collection also includes general architectural renderings of comfort stations, layout of park and refreshment stands, police booths, guard posts, incinerators, and park benches. These appear to be general drawings for future planning.
